SADBERGE VILLAGE HALL COFFEE SHOP

OPERATION IN THE "NEW NORMAL"

Plaque

This page describes how the Coffee Shop is operating in compliance with Government guidance on preventing the spread of Covid-19.  Our aim is to provide an important service to the Sadberge community and visitors to our village while keeping our staff and customers safe from the coronavirus.

Seating areas

There are two seating areas, an inside area in the Coffee Lounge and an outside area on the Barbecue Patio.

Under Government guidelines on social gatherings:-

Please comply with these guidelines.

You still need to socially distance from anyone not in your household.

Arriving at the Coffee Shop

All Coffee Shop customers should go in through the village hall front door and go straight on along the corridor to the Coffee Lounge.
Note: This is a change from the earlier arrangements, in which people wanting to sit indoors went in via the Main Hall while people wanting to sit outdoors went round the outside of the building to the Barbecue Patio.

If you wish to sit indoors, the Coffee Shop staff will find a table for you in the Coffee Lounge.

If you wish to sit outdoors, the Coffee Shop staff will indicate when you should go out through the fire escape door to the Barbecue Patio.
Note: As the fire escape door is a potential 'pinch point' where social distancing could break down, please only use this door as directed by the Coffee Shop staff.

When you sit down, please try to arrange things so that you are 2 metres from anyone not in your household ..... and definitely stay at least 1 metre away from anyone not in your household.  The tables in the Coffee Lounge are 1.2 metres wide, and they have been set out so that people sitting at different tables are at least 1.5 metres apart (and sitting facing away from each other, which helps to avoid coronavirus transmission).  If you have any concerns about where you are sitting, please speak to a member of staff.

We are operating table service.  A member of staff will come to your table to take your order and will bring your food and drinks to your table.

Payment

If possible, please use a contactless credit or debit card to pay.

Access to the toilets

We are operating a "one person at a time" system in each of the toilets.  Please knock and listen for an answer.

To access the toilets from the Coffee Lounge, go out through the fire escape door to the Barbecue Patio (remembering to follow Coffee Shop staff directions on when you should go out through the fire escape door) , turn right, follow the exit route round to the front of the village hall, go in through the front door and along the corridor that leads towards the Coffee Lounge.  Please watch out for other people using the corridor between the front door the Coffee Lounge, and if you have to go past other people keep as far as possible from anyone not in your household.

To access the toilets from the Barbecue Patio, follow the exit route round the outside of the Main Hall, go in through the front door and along the corridor that leads towards the Coffee Lounge.  Return to the Barbecue Patio via the Coffee Lounge (remembering to follow Coffee Shop staff directions on when you should go out through the fire escape door).

Contact information

When you place your order you will be asked for the name and contact phone number of one member of your party.  This is to comply with Government guidelines and to help the NHS Test & Trace Service to contact members of your party if someone who was in the Coffee Shop at the same time subsequently tests positive for Covid-19.  We will also record the number of people in your party, the time that you arrived and whether you are sitting inside or outside.  (If you're sitting on the Barbecue Patio it wouldn't make any sense for you to be asked to self-isolate because someone sitting in the Coffee Lounge tested positive for Covid-19.)

The contact record sheets will be stored securely for 21 days and then shredded.

Face masks

Please wear a face covering when you are moving around inside the village hall.  It is now clear that wearing face coverings plays an important role in reducing the spread of Covid-19.  A cloth face covering doesn't protect the wearer from catching Covid-19, but if someone has Covid-19 then wearing a face mask prevents them from passing it on to other people.  Remember that if you catch Covid-19 you are at your most contagious during the 48 hours before you get any symptoms (and some people are contagious without ever getting symptoms).

We are not asking you to wear a face covering in the outside seating area (as the risk of Covid-19 transmission is much lower outdoors) or when you are sitting down to eat or drink.

Re-usable cloth face masks are available for sale in the Coffee Shop for £1.50 each (limited to one per customer per visit).

Leaving the Coffee Shop

From the Coffee Lounge, go out through the fire escape door to the Barbecue Patio, turn right and go round the outside of the Main Hall.  This will bring you back to the front of the village hall.

From the Barbecue Patio, follow the "exit" signs around the outside of the Main Hall.

Please note that the exit route involves going up four steps.  If this will cause difficulties for you, please speak to a member of staff, who will arrange for you to leave by a more accessible route.
